TIDBITS: Biomarkers for Response to Immunosuppression in Immune-Mediated Thrombocytopenia
OpenGoal:
Investigate whether exosome RNA profiles in ITP differ in treatment of naive dogs compared to those that respond with immunosuppression
Inclusion Criteria:
- Canine patients with platelet count < 40K
- Clinical evidence of bleeding
- Weight ≥ 2kg
- Ability to administer vincristine
- No other causes of thrombocytopenia found on routine screening
- Can be included with a positive serology to Anaplasma with negative PCR
Study Schedule:
- Day 0: Physical exam, CBC, Chem, 3V CXR, 4Dx, AUS, Tick PCR, Enrollment paperwork, Exosome analysis, start immunosuppressive treatment + vincristine
- Day 3: PE, CBC/platelet count, exosome analysis
- If platelet < 40K study ends
- Day 5: PE, CBC/platelet count, exosome analysis, Study end
