Whitney Witzel

Dr. Witzel (nee Miesbauer) received her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Wisconsin.

Prior to veterinary school, Dr. Witzel volunteered at a variety of small animal general practices and was the head intern at a zoo in northern Wisconsin. Throughout veterinary school, she worked as the lead student in the clinical pathology laboratory. She also assisted in research pertaining to the affects of intermittent hypoxia in mice.

On what she enjoys most about working at WVRC…“I truly enjoy the teamwork that is required in an emergency environment in order to provide the best possible care for our patients. I also love the challenge and critical thinking skills demanded in this aspect of the profession.”
